Our pastor

Elder Marvin F. Blackwell was born October 15, 1966 in Dallas Texas to the union of Mr. Marvin Matthew Blackwell and Mrs. Maxine Virginia Blackwell. He is the youngest of six siblings, four sisters and two brothers.

Elder Blackwell was raised in the city of Dallas and received his early education in the Dallas Independent School District. He graduated from David W. Carter High School in 1985 where he was a member of the football and track team. Because of his athletic successes he was offered and accepted an athletic scholarship to attend Angelo State University in 1985. While attending  Angelo State University he focused his studies in Sociology and Psychology.

After leaving Angelo State University in July of 1987 Pastor Blackwell enlisted in the United States Air Force where he was trained and certified as a Fire Protection Specialist.  Pastor Blackwell served in the United States Air Force until December of 1990.

After returning to Dallas Texas in early 1991 Elder Blackwell met the love of his life Ms. Shinika Hardin.  In August of 1992 Elder Blackwell and Ms. Hardin entered into the bonds of holy matrimony. Elder and Lady Blackwells union produced two sons, Kahlil Blackwell and Rahzil Blackwell.

In April 1993 Pastor Blackwell rededicated his life to Jesus Christ and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at his childhood church home Full Gospel Holy Temple  under the ministry of the late Apostle Lobias Murray.

In October of 1996 Elder Blackwell left FGHT and became a member of House of Praise Church under the ministry of Bishop Jesse Smith.  He was ordained as Deacon in 1997, and served faithfully as Sunday School and Bible Study Teacher.

In 1999 Elder Blackwell accepted his call as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and received his license as a Minister of the Gospel while serving at the House of Praise Church.

It was in the month of August of 2001 when Elder Blackwell founded Hebron Community Church after receiving direction from God in prayer. He was ordained as Elder and installed as Pastor of Hebron Community Church by Bishop Jesse Smith of House of Praise Church.

Elder Blackwell has served as Pastor and Overseer of Hebron Community Church for the past 20 years. Under his ministry many souls have been saved and filled with the Holy Ghost,  sick bodies have been healed, drug addicts have been delivered, and the poor have gained health financially thru the  anointed preaching and teaching of the Word of God.  Further, minsters and deacons have been trained, licensed and ordained. Auxillary ministries that serve the local church and the community at large have been established and continue to thrive.
